26th SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship

&

11th SKDUN World Kohai Cup.

12 -14 October 2018 – Chisinau, Republic of Moldova

Sport Hall “Manej Arena” Chisinau, 26 Andrei Doga Street


This event also includes 2 days of technical Karate seminars and Dan Grading

10 -11 October 2018, course open to all grades, detailed schedule to follow.




Schedule:

Friday 12 October

10:00 to 20:00 – registration (team manager or a designated person must attend and provide list of all competitors from their country)

10:00 to 12:00 – 26th SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship – VETERANS (kata ind, kumite ind, kata teams, kumite teams)

13:00 to 20:00 – 11th SKDUN World Kohai Cup (kata ind, kumite ind, kata teams kohai)

Saturday 13 October 26th SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship

09:00 to 12:30 – kata individual, kata teams, kumite individual children

14:00 to 15:00 – Official Opening Ceremony

15:00 to 18:30 – kumite individual: minicadets, cadets, juniors and youths

Sunday 14 October 26th SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Championship

09:00 to 14:00 – kumite individual seniors, kumite teams: cadets, juniors and seniors

15:00 to 17:00 – Finals for kumite individual seniors + Masters category (male and female)

Please note: the schedule is subject to change


Awards:

Individual events:

- 1st place – Trophy, medal and diploma

- 2nd and 3rd place – Medals and diploma (joint 3rd place for kumite events)

Team events:

- 1st, 2nd and 3rd places – Trophy, medals and diplomas for all team members.

All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Deadline for registration by sportdata will be 05 October 2018

Note: Late registrations will be permitted at the organisers discretion.

There will be an extra fee for any permitted registration after

05 October 2018: +10 Euro for individual events

and +25 Euro for team events.

Competition fees

Individual events – 25 Euro per person per event

Team events – 45 Euro per team per event

Brown and Black belts only (3rd Kyu and above)


MASTERS

The final event on Sunday will be the prestigious Masters competition.

Each country can nominate one Female and one Male competitor over 18 years of age that will compete in Kata and Kumite for the ultimate title of Grand Champion.

Nominations to be submitted on Saturday evening.

Kata rules: All rounds by points system (Tensu hoshiki).

Limit of participation: Max of 6 competitors per country per category (Exception: Children and Minicadets are alowed 10 competitors per country per category and Cadets: 8 competitors). The organising country can register one more competitor in each category.

The competitors in each category will compete in the elimination rounds down to 8 competitors (two competitors at the same time, AKA / SHIRO).

In semi-finals, these 8 competitors will perform Tokui kata (their choice from the approved list), then 4 competitors with the highest scores will perform a different Tokui kata in the final round (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd medal place).

In the case of a draw in the semi-final and final rounds, competitors must perform a different kata to the ones performed in all previous rounds.

For choice of Tokui kata see the approved kata list appropriate to the competitors range ( it can be found in the SKDUN rule book on the SKDUN website).
